little events

No real news here. Just some everyday stuff.
I chopped some wood for our first fire in the new house. Here, look at the blurry pictures.

I'll be going to Boston for training on December 4-8. If you're curious here's a link to what the course is. And yes, I'll be staying with Bobby while I'm up there. And yes, I turned down a hotel in Chicago to sleep on the floor in Boston. And yes, I'm stoked. If I were a rich man I'd probably take this course just for the "fun" of it. I'm just glad that NPH is sending me.

The plan is to get back on that Friday (12/8) and then Amy and I will be going up to Omaha, NE (nope, don't know anyone there) for a couple days to celebrate our anniversary. We've even talked about driving up to MN to see the Krizzle. I want to cross the border while we're up there too, we'll see if that actually happens.

OH and btw, the rumors are true I was Nacho Libre for Halloween. Yes, there are pictures out there too. Somehow (dirty Nazarene hot line I guess) everyone at work found out too. Just a hair embarrassing when the head of the HR department starts asking about your costume that involved tights and ladies underwear.

Also, I joined Facebook. Never thought I'd do it, because it seemed just like some other trendy online community. But I was bored on Saturday so I joined. Joe was pretty happy about it.

And finally. If they would have had games like this in school I probably would be a much better typpper.

ahh, wood splitting, how I miss thee

Scott, remember that time when we were trying to split wood and you couldn't pick up the ax, and then I said, "Hey Scott, lift with the legs" and you said, "I AM!!" and I said, "Hey Scott, lift with the shoulders!" and you pouted, "I a-ha-hammm" and your lips started quivering and I said, "Hey Scott, maybe you could make us some hot chocolate?" and you said, lips still quivering "Okay, (sniffles)...do you want marshmallows?" And then you walked away with your head low trying to not let us hear you crying?

Those were the days...

Nice wood, Scott. I too am a firewood chopper. I really like fires in the fireplace, Kim and I have about 2-3 fires a week…it’s fun. Maybe you have tried this already, but you should try sitting by the fire playing the guitar while the wife hangs out in the room with you and knits (that’s what Kim likes to do), reads, or listens and sings or whatever. I purchased two cords of wood for $30. Quite a deal, I even got to go up in the Sierra Nevada mountains and cut a treep up (or down rather) into rounds, then loaded them onto a truck, took them down the mountain, unloaded, chopped up the logs, then took them home. I did all of that with rest of our pastoral staff at the church, so it was really pretty fun. It’s not everyday that you get to chop wood and feel like a lumberjack. Anyway, have fun with the fires and congratulations on your first fire in the new house.

Are you going to the zoo in Omaha? Is there a zoo there?

Yep, that's the plan. Hey, how far is it to the border where you live?

The Canadian Border? 8 hours? Maybe...I've only crossed once or twice and that was my senior year of highschool...
